You start the day with a plan, and somehow it's 4 PM, and you've done none of it.
You’re overwhelmed and feel like you’re being pulled at from every direction at once. The sounds, the lights, the to-do list, or cycling thoughts that never stop. You sit down to start, then remember something else, then look up, and half the day is gone, again. You’ve heard the comments for years. No filter. Too many thoughts at once. Jumping from one thing to the next. Full of potential, but always feeling like you’re falling short.
An ADHD Assessment in Mississauga can help you understand what’s been going on and give you clear answers you’ve been searching for.

ADHD Evaluation in Mississauga
What Is An ADHD Assessment And How Does It Work?
An ADHD assessment for adults & teens is a thorough evaluation that helps explain how you focus, stay organized, remember things, and make decisions. During the assessment process, you’ll work with a registered psychologist and psychometrist. Our team uses interviews, questionnaires, and proven psychological tests to look at attention, executive functioning, memory, learning, and other things that might be shaping your day-to-day. It’s a structured yet personalized process that considers every part of you, your history, your challenges, your strengths, and the particular way your mind works.
If you’re wondering about ADHD, trying to understand why certain tasks feel so much harder for you, or looking for answers after years of uncertainty, ADHD testing can help you make sense of what’s below the surface. It offers a clearer picture of your needs so you can stop guessing and start understanding yourself with confidence. The result is a detailed written report, practical recommendations, and a roadmap for next steps, whether that means school or workplace accommodations, therapy, strategies for focus and organization, or simply the answers you’ve been searching for.
Choosing to understand how your mind works is a brave step, and a powerful act of self-respect.

What An ADHD Assessment Can Help You Understand
Staying focused can take more effort for you than it seems to for everyone else, whether your mind wanders off the task or locks onto something for hours. An assessment explores how your attention works, where it slips, and what tends to pull it in different directions.
Planning, organizing, starting tasks, and keeping track of time can feel like a daily uphill climb. We look at how you manage the behind-the-scenes work of getting things done and where the system tends to break down.
Acting before you’ve thought it through, interrupting, fidgeting, or feeling like you’re always “on the go” can show up in lots of different ways. An assessment considers how impulsivity and restlessness affect your day, your relationships, and your sense of calm.
Forgetting appointments, losing track of details, or starting things you never quite finish can wear you down over time. We explore how memory and follow-through play out for you, so the pattern makes more sense.
Strong feelings, frustration, and the stress of competing demands can hit harder and faster than people realize. We look at how you experience and manage emotion, so it feels less overwhelming and more understandable.
Sometimes ADHD sits alongside learning differences, or gets mistaken for them entirely. An assessment can explore how you take in, process, and work with information, so you get a clearer picture of what’s really going on.
ADHD often comes with valuable strengths, like creativity, energy, problem-solving, and the ability to hyperfocus on what matters to you. We explore these alongside the challenges, so you understand the whole of how your mind works.

Our Approach
The ADHD Assessment Process
Step 1: Initial Consultation and Information Gathering
We start with a conversation to understand your concerns, your history, and the challenges that brought you here. You may also complete a few questionnaires and share any relevant records, so we get a full picture of your experiences from the start.
Step 2: Assessment and Testing
Working with a psychologist and a psychometrist, you’ll take part in interviews, questionnaires, and psychological tests that look at attention, focus, memory, learning, and other things shaping your daily life. This usually happens over two to three sessions. The psychometrist helps run and score the tests, and your psychologist oversees everything, interprets the results, and provides your diagnosis and recommendations.
Step 3: Results, Diagnosis, and Recommendations
We meet to walk through the findings together, talk through whether a diagnosis fits, and go over recommendations made for you. You’ll also receive a written report you can share with schools, workplaces, or other professionals to help you get the support that makes a difference at school, work, or in daily life.
What Happens After The ADHD Assessment?
Once the ADHD assessment in Mississauga is complete, you’ll leave with more than a report. You’ll have answers and a clear understanding of how your attention and focus really work. You’ll gain:
- A clearer understanding of how your brain processes information and manages daily tasks
- A formal diagnosis, when clinically appropriate, with a written report you can use
- Clear recommendations for therapy, accommodations, strategies, and support
- Relief from the confusion and self-blame that often come with years of going unrecognized
- Confidence to advocate for your needs at school, work, or in your relationships
The clarity you need to move forward with confidence.

Questions About ADHD Assessments
If you’ve spent years working harder than everyone around you and still falling behind, an ADHD assessment is a way to finally understand why. Conducted by a registered psychologist, it looks at whether ADHD might be behind your struggles with focus, organization, time management, impulsivity, or getting started on the things you mean to do. Using interviews, questionnaires, and testing, we build a clear picture of how your mind works, including your strengths. The goal is to give you answers, name what you’ve been up against, and offer recommendations that help you move forward with more confidence and less self-blame.
You might benefit from an ADHD assessment in Mississauga if you or your teen has ongoing difficulties with attention, focus, organization, time management, memory, task completion, or impulsivity that are affecting your school, work, personal, or social life. Many people seek an assessment after years of wondering why tasks seem harder for them than for everyone else, despite putting in real effort to keep up. The assessment can provide clarity, identify your strengths and challenges, and guide your next steps for support.
The full ADHD assessment process typically takes 4 to 6 weeks from your initial consultation to receiving your results, though this can vary with scheduling and complexity. It generally includes: an Interview session with the psychologist, two to three assessment sessions, time for scoring, interpretation, and report writing, and a feedback session to review your results and recommendations. In some cases, additional testing may be recommended to ensure a thorough and accurate evaluation, which can extend the timeline. If that’s needed, your psychologist will discuss it with you in advance and provide an updated timeline.
If the assessment findings support a diagnosis of ADHD or another condition within the scope of the evaluation, your psychologist will discuss it with you during the feedback session. Not everyone who completes an ADHD assessment receives an ADHD diagnosis, but the process still provides valuable insight into your strengths, your challenges, and the supports that can help you move forward.
At the end of the process, you’ll take part in a feedback session with your psychologist to review the findings and recommendations together. You’ll also receive a comprehensive written report outlining the assessment results, the diagnosis when one applies, and personalized recommendations that can support you at school, work, home, or in other areas of daily life. This report can be shared with schools, workplaces, or other professionals to help you request the support you need.
Your assessment is overseen by a registered psychologist, who is responsible for interpreting the results and providing the diagnostic conclusions and recommendations. Throughout the process, you may also work with a registered psychotherapist and psychometrist, who helps administer and score the psychological tests under the psychologist’s supervision. Together, this team makes sure your assessment is thorough, accurate, and grounded in evidence-based practice.
Yes. ADHD often overlaps with other conditions, so a comprehensive assessment looks at the bigger picture. Depending on your needs, the evaluation can explore factors related to ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, processing differences, memory and attention concerns, mood-related concerns, cognitive functioning, and trauma-related symptoms. This helps make sure your results reflect what’s truly going on, rather than a single explanation that may not fit.
OHIP doesn’t cover private psychological assessments, so the cost of an ADHD assessment is paid out of pocket. That said, many extended health and workplace benefit plans cover services provided by a registered psychologist, in full or in part. We’d recommend checking your plan for coverage of “psychological services” or “registered psychologist,” and we’re happy to provide a receipt for you to submit. In some cases, the fee may also be eligible to be claimed as a medical expense on your income taxes.
We believe in being clear about cost from the start, so you’ll know the full fee before you book. The investment covers the complete process, including your consultation, assessment sessions, scoring and interpretation, your feedback session, and your comprehensive written report. If additional testing is recommended, your psychologist will discuss any associated fees with you in advance.
