Dhushica is a Registered Psychotherapist offering in-person therapy in Mississauga and virtual therapy across Ontario. She provides compassionate, client-centered support for teens, adults, and couples navigating relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, family conflict, and life transitions. With training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Dhushica specializes in helping individuals and couples build secure, fulfilling relationships.

Engaging in the therapeutic process can be both exciting and overwhelming. It can bring on many questions including, “Is therapy for me?” Connecting with the right therapist is important, and I want you to feel comfortable and supported from our very first session.

Creating a secure connection with oneself and those around us is important to healthy living. Whether you are struggling in your relationship with a partner, navigating family conflict, or working to build a stronger relationship with yourself, I am here to help you understand your patterns and develop healthier ways of connecting.

My work with individuals and couples includes a client-centered approach to tailor the therapeutic process to your unique needs and goals. Taking an integrative approach, I draw from modalities such as Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, Attachment-Based Therapy, Somatic Therapy and Internal Family Systems to support you in your unique and lived experience.

I strive to create a safe and non-judgemental environment to support you on your healing journey while working towards creating a secure relationship with the self and others. I believe that when we understand our attachment patterns and emotional responses, we can make meaningful changes in how we relate to ourselves and the people we care about.

Answers to some frequently asked questions:

Yes. Couples therapy is a core part of my practice. I use a Gottman Method informed approach along with Emotionally Focused Therapy to help couples improve communication, manage conflict, rebuild trust, and deepen their emotional connection. Whether you are navigating ongoing tension, recovering from a breach of trust, or wanting to strengthen your relationship before challenges arise, I can help.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples is a research-based approach to couples therapy that helps partners understand the deeper emotions driving conflict and disconnection.

Instead of only focusing on communication skills, EFT looks at the emotional patterns underneath recurring arguments, like feeling unheard, unimportant, rejected, or alone. Many couples get stuck in cycles such as one partner pursuing while the other shuts down. In EFT, we slow these moments down, identify the pattern, and help both partners express their feelings in a safer, more vulnerable way.

Through this process, couples learn how to:

  • Break negative conflict cycles

  • Communicate emotions more clearly

  • Respond to each other with empathy

  • Rebuild trust and emotional closeness

Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy is rooted in attachment science and is designed to help partners feel more secure, connected, and understood in their relationship.

Yes. Trust issues, whether stemming from past betrayals, childhood experiences, or patterns in previous relationships, are a core area of my work. I help individuals and couples understand where trust difficulties originate and work toward building or rebuilding secure connections.

Yes. I work with teens, adults, and couples. Many of my individual clients come to therapy to work on relationship patterns, attachment styles, family conflict, or building a stronger sense of self. The work we do individually often translates into healthier relationships with others.

Yes. I support clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, including those navigating BIPOC experiences, cross-cultural challenges, immigration, and cultural identity questions. I am committed to creating a space where your background and experiences are understood and respected.
