Bio At A Glance:

Kyla is offering in-person therapy in Mississauga and virtual therapy across Ontario. She provides gentle, compassionate support for children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, social anxiety, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges. Kyla has completed her Master of Science in Psychotherapy at McMaster University.

Life can bring unexpected challenges that affect one’s sense of self, relationships, family dynamics, education, and career. These challenges can leave you feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, and uncertain about your next steps. You might find yourself stuck in self-doubt, overthinking decisions, or struggling with a relentless inner critic. In the midst of it all, reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re used to carrying everything on your own.

I offer a gentle and compassionate space where you can begin to make sense of what you’re going through and feel less alone in the process. I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, interpersonal challenges, and difficulties setting boundaries. My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and deeply empathetic. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) while also integrating principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to meet your unique needs.

My goal is to support each client in building a life that feels more aligned with their values, goals, and sense of self.

Experience

Kyla has a passion for working with children and has supported them in a variety of settings over the years. One of her most rewarding experiences was designing and facilitating a dance movement therapy program for children aged 5 to 12. The program combined creative expression with therapeutic tools to support children experiencing anxiety, bullying, communication difficulties, and loneliness.

Kyla has also volunteered with local community centres, mental health charities, and post-secondary support groups. Through this work, she gained experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, and challenges at school. Most recently, she completed her first practicum at the Mood Disorders Clinic at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, where she co-facilitated emotion regulation therapy groups for people with depressive disorders.

These experiences have deepened Kyla’s understanding of the challenges people face at different stages of life and strengthened her commitment to creating a supportive space for every client.

Answers to some frequently asked questions:

I work with children, teens, and adults. I have a particular passion for working with young people and have designed therapeutic programs for children as young as 5. For teens and adults, I adapt my approach based on what feels most helpful for each individual.

Yes. Social anxiety is one of my core areas of focus. Many clients come to me feeling overwhelmed by social situations, fearing judgment, or avoiding interactions altogether. Together, we work on building confidence, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, and gradually facing feared situations at a pace that feels manageable.

Exposure therapy is an evidence-based approach that helps people gradually face fears or anxiety triggers in a safe, supported way. It is particularly effective for phobias, social anxiety, and panic. We always work at your pace, and I will never push you into something you are not ready for.

Yes. I offer online and phone therapy for clients anywhere in Ontario. Virtual sessions can be especially helpful for teens or adults with busy schedules, or for anyone who feels more comfortable in their own space.
