As a therapist:

Telling your story and making space for your varying feelings, in the presence of another person, is courageous and often healing. The human experience can be an exhausting one. Often, we don’t take the time to acknowledge and give ourselves the space to process these experiences, which may leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and others, perhaps even feeling overwhelmed and stuck.

Acknowledging how these feelings impact your life, and where they come from, can help you make sense of what is happening emotionally and move you towards creating the change you desire. My aim is to help foster a non-judgmental and safe space where we can become curious and explore your story towards increasing awareness of your feelings, understanding your patterns of relating to others and yourself, and move towards a deeper sense of fulfillment in your life. Therapy with me will be a collaborative challenge – We will sit with your uncomfortable emotions, explore your pain, all in an effort to better access the joy in your life.

I believe when we make space to process these emotions and experiences, we open ourselves up to what nurtures balance in our lives. Each person has in them the natural desire to grow, and with emotional understanding, these experiences can be a powerful agent of growth and change.

As a Supervisor:

Psychotherapy can be emotionally demanding work. Clinical supervision is an integral part of our practice and professional development and I strive to create a safe and collaborative space to process and explore challenging experiences. My vision of a good supervisory relationship involves support, reflection, guidance, a bi-directional willingness to learn, and clinical oversight.

Because no single model can address the complexity and variability of human experience, I use a supervisory approach that meet the specific needs of each supervisee or consultee, meeting you exactly where you are in your career and clinical practice.

At the heart of the therapeutic relationship, we as practitioners are entrusted with ensuring the well-being of clients. My philosophy of supervision and consultation begins with this goal, followed by empowering the development of competent, confident, lawful and ethical professionals.

As a supervisor, it is a privilege and truly rewarding to participate in the professional journey of an ever-growing clinician.
