Bio At A Glance:

Elida is a Registered Psychotherapist offering in-person therapy in Mississauga and virtual therapy across Ontario. She provides compassionate, evidence-based support for adults navigating anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, emotional regulation challenges, and interpersonal conflict. Elida offers therapy primarily in English and can support Albanian-speaking clients.

Many people seek therapy when life becomes difficult to cope with, whether that be by dealing with anxiety, experiencing emotional dysregulation, or navigating difficult life transitions. It is normal to wonder whether therapy will help or even if your therapist will understand you, especially if you are feeling stuck. Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome here.

I value and tailor evidence-based psychotherapy approaches to fit your individual needs. For clients struggling with OCD, panic attacks, or phobias, I use Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you gradually face feared situations and break free from the cycles that keep you stuck. For those navigating relationship difficulties or emotional dysregulation, I draw from a mix of approaches, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help you understand your patterns so you can grow out of what no longer serves you and build a future where you feel more aligned. Together, we will make your therapy goals your reality.

Through our work together, clients often begin to form new perspectives, regulate emotions better, develop coping strategies, navigate relationships with more ease, and overall build a stronger sense of self. No matter the path we take, you can trust that this is the start to an empowering journey toward healing.

Answers to some frequently asked questions:

I offer therapy sessions primarily in English. However, I can support Albanian-speaking clients who are open to a combination of English and Albanian being used throughout treatment. Working in your first language can make it easier to express complex emotions and feel fully understood, especially when discussing family dynamics, cultural experiences, or sensitive personal matters.

Yes. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is one of my core areas of focus. I use evidence-based approaches including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a form of Exposure Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help shift the cycles of obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours. Together, we work at a pace that feels manageable while building your confidence in facing feared situations.

Exposure Therapy is an evidence-based approach that helps you gradually face fears, anxieties, or triggers in a safe, supported way. Rather than avoiding what frightens you, we work together to slowly approach these situations, building tolerance to distress and uncertainty, which works to reduce anxiety over time. It is particularly effective for OCD, panic attacks, phobias, and social anxiety. I always work at your pace and will never push you into something you are not ready for.

Yes. Panic attacks are one of my areas of practice. I help clients understand what is happening in their body during panic, develop strategies to manage and reduce the intensity of attacks, and address the underlying anxiety that often drives them. Many might find relief as they learn that panic, while frightening, is not dangerous and can be managed.

Yes. I offer online and phone therapy for clients anywhere in Ontario. Virtual sessions provide flexibility and can feel more comfortable for clients who prefer to connect from their own space. Virtual sessions are generally recommended over phone sessions, as they can better build rapport and safety in the therapeutic space.
