Bio At A Glance:

Klara is a Registered Psychotherapist offering in-person therapy in Mississauga and virtual therapy across Ontario. She provides compassionate, trauma-informed support for adults navigating anxiety, childhood trauma, perfectionism, burnout, and recurring patterns that feel difficult to break. Klara offers therapy in English, Czech, and Slovak for clients who prefer to work in their first language.

Sometimes we can feel stuck in patterns which feel beyond our control. We react and feel discouraged by circumstances we repeatedly find ourselves in and it seems there is nothing that works, nothing gets better, no one understands.

I utilize a trauma-informed, long-term perspective using methodologies such as Schema Therapy to uncover the root causes that perpetuate damaging patterns. Schema Therapy helps us understand how early life experiences shape the beliefs we hold about ourselves and the world, and how those beliefs continue to influence our emotions and behaviours today. Sessions look at embracing challenges as opportunities for learning while understanding the factors that have contributed to our behaviour, challenging unhelpful beliefs, and committing to change.

My approach is not about quick fixes. I believe that lasting change comes from understanding yourself deeply, including the parts that developed in response to difficult experiences. Whether you are struggling with perfectionism that leaves you exhausted, anxiety that won’t quiet down, or the lingering effects of childhood trauma, I am here to help you make sense of your experiences and find new ways forward.

Sessions are a space for reflection and learning, of reconciling the past with the present and choosing directions that work for you, the client.

Life Outside Session

I love gardening! If I can pick a few weeds in the morning my day feels more balanced.

Answers to some frequently asked questions:

Yes. I offer therapy sessions in Czech, Slovak, and English for clients in Mississauga and across Ontario. Working in your first language can make it easier to express complex emotions and feel fully understood, especially when exploring sensitive topics like family dynamics, childhood experiences, or cultural identity.

Schema Therapy is an integrative approach that helps people understand how early life experiences shape lasting patterns in how we think, feel, and relate to others. These patterns, called schemas, often develop in childhood and can continue to cause difficulties in adulthood. Schema Therapy combines cognitive, behavioural, and experiential techniques to help you recognize these patterns, understand where they came from, and develop healthier ways of responding.

Yes. Perfectionism is one of my core areas of focus. Many perfectionists struggle with constant self-criticism, fear of failure, and burnout from impossibly high standards. Together, we can explore where these patterns originated, challenge the beliefs driving them, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

Trauma-informed therapy recognizes that past experiences, especially difficult or painful ones, shape how we think, feel, and behave in the present. It means I approach our work with an understanding of how trauma affects the mind and body, prioritize safety and trust in our relationship, and move at a pace that feels manageable for you.

I take a long-term, depth-oriented approach to therapy. While some clients may benefit from shorter-term work focused on specific skills, many of my clients find that meaningful, lasting change requires time to understand the root causes of their difficulties. We will work together to determine what timeline makes sense for your goals.

Yes. I offer online therapy for clients anywhere in Ontario. Virtual sessions can be especially helpful for those with busy schedules or who prefer the comfort of their own space.
